After the last year’s world cat show was held in Malmo, this year it was Vienna’s privilege to host this biggest FIFe event. The show gathered more than 1000 cats, which is approximately 10 times more than an average cat show. AnimaLabs had the privilege to attend the event and present itself.
Brief History of Cat Shows
The very first internation cat show was organised in 1871 in Crystal Palace in London. The event was very successful, and since then cat shows gathered more and more cat breeders, fanciers or just visitors who want to admire the beauty and diversity of cat breeds.
Since 1991. FIFe (Fédération Internationale Féline) holds world cat shows, every year in a different country. This year, the Club of Cat Fancier of Austria (Der Klub der Katzenfreunde Österreichs, KKÖ) organised the world cat show in the name of FIFe cats from all over the world to Vienna. The event was held on 29th and 30th October in Marx Halle and it gathered around 1300 cats from several different countries at one place.

World winners were chosen in 26 different categories on Sunday, October the 30th.
Visitors and participants of the show had the chance to visit AnimaLabs stand and get information about newest trends in genetic testing, special offers or any additional details of interest. The show was a great success, as for participants, as well for AnimaLabs, as a great number of samples was collected. In the end, healthy animal equals beautiful animal, and when our beloved pets are healthy, everybody is a winner!
